Happy Father's Day!

To all the Dad's out there!

I think fondly of my own father - he has been gone for 2 years now, but I still miss him so much!

He was my rock, my hero, teacher, advisor and friend. His beloved companion, Evelyn said to me once that he was a man comfortable in his own skin, and that is truly what he was. He never pretended to be anything but himself, and we all loved him for that.

He was very mechanically talented, he loved tinkering out in his garage and was able to fix just about anything. Once he retired, his hobby was to buy old tractors and take them apart, restore and rebuild them. He shared this talent with just about anyone, he loved the challenge of it and took pride in a job well done. He was always willing to help his friends and neighbors and this shows in the love and respect they still have for him. I am very proud to be his daughter.

Here is a photo of him a few years back sitting on his 4-wheeler with his dog, Pepper, I know that today they are together in heaven, enjoying each others company.

Spiritual Journey Challenge for June:

"Honor your father and your mother, so that you may live long in the land the LORD your God is giving you."
